Department of Homeschooling, Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America
The Dept. of Homeschooling was created in 2015 and is staffed by volunteers who are grateful for the Metropolitan's support for this growing educational option. The primary goal of the Department of Homeschooling is to promote, support, and unite homeschooling families throughout the Archdiocese. Secondarily, we seek to remind all parents that their children's education is their responsibility, whether or not they outsource this task.
His Grace Bishop Thomas, Diocese of Charleston, Oakland & the Mid-Atlantic, is our hierarchical overseer, and Fr. Noah Bushelli (St. Philip Orthodox Church, Souderton, PA) is our director.
The CiRCE Institute is called to promote, model, and support classical education in the school, within itself, and in the home. Our clients consider the CiRCE Institute the cutting-edge organization in the Christian classical renewal because of our unique ability to identify the ancient principles of learning, to communicate them enthusiastically, and to apply them vigorously in todays educational settings.
The CLRC promotes excellent education by establishing an online space where students meet outstanding instructors in an educational community.
The St. Basil Center for Orthodox Thought and Culture offers Eastern University students the opportunity to minor in Orthodox Thought and Culture. It features an interdisciplinary, integrated curriculum focused on the Great Books of the Church Fathers, as well as other noteworthy but rarely studied Orthodox theologians, philosophers, novelists, poets, statesmen, cultural figures, musicians, iconographers, and artists.
The Orthodox Christian Studies Center of Fordham University connects an archipelago of cultures, religious traditions, and academic disciplines to advance awareness and knowledge of Orthodox Christianity in public discourse. In its distinctive relationship to Roman Catholicism through the Jesuit tradition of Fordham University, as well as its location in New York City, the Orthodox Christian Studies Center is uniquely poised to engage ecumenical discussion and to foster Christian unity.
